Transcript of this Episode
Welcome, everyone, to the very first episode of Donc Voila Quoi! I’m Jessie Louise, your host, and I’m thrilled to have you here as we embark on this journey together.
Let me start by sharing a bit about myself and the inspiration behind this podcast. My passion for history, language, and culture has always been a driving force in my life. These interests have shaped my worldview and have inspired me to explore the intricate stories that connect us all, past and present. As a writer and orator, I believe in the power of words to inspire change and challenge the status quo. My writing on doncvoilaquoi.com is a reflection of this belief, diving into thought-provoking issues and shedding light on often overlooked narratives.
For those who have followed me on social media, you may know that my previous Instagram account, doncvoilaquoi, was shut down due to my vocal support for Palestine. This experience has only strengthened my commitment to using my voice for activism and advocating for human rights. Now, with my new Instagram account, @jessielouisevernon, I continue to share insights, stories, and reflections that I hope will inspire others to think critically and act compassionately.
In this podcast, we’ll explore a wide range of topics—from historical events and linguistic curiosities to cultural phenomena and social movements. It’s about connecting the dots between the past and present, and imagining a better future. I want to use this platform to not only share my thoughts but also to encourage you, the listeners, to engage with these ideas and participate in meaningful conversations.
So, whether you’re here for the deep dives into history, the linguistic explorations, or the cultural critiques, there’s something for everyone. And of course, we’ll also have plenty of book, film, and documentary recommendations along the way.
Before we dive into our first topic, I want to remind you to like, follow, and share the content if you enjoy what you hear. Your support helps spread the word and grow our community. Be sure to follow me on Instagram at @jessielouisevernon, as well as on Pinterest and YouTube, where this podcast will also be published. Let’s make Donc Voila Quoi a space for thoughtful dialogue and impactful stories.
Thank you for tuning in, and please join me in the first episode proper entitled – The Graveyard of Empires: Why The Middle East Cannot be Conquered
Until then – adieu –
