Spring Fashion Inspiration: 5 March 2023

This week’s look comes from a recent shopping haul I did from George at Asda. I used the online shopping option because I knew that I was going to have quite a basket full of items for the kids and I didn’t want to take pot luck on the sizes and options available in store. I noticed a few dress items that looked like they could be cute for mama so I popped them in the cart to.

I ended up getting a green dot print dress – I’ll use that for next week’s look I think so keep an eye out for that one; and this lovely bright floral print dress.

Now, This weeks look didn’t really come together until I had hung all the new items up in the open front wardrobes that I ordered from Argos I have an pretty small bedroom so a normal wardrobe would not work in order to accommodate all my clothes – and especially coats.

There really is one huge advantage to having an open front wardrobe which is that you can instantly see what colours go well together without spending hours pouring over combinations. In this case, the orange H&M dress that I paired with the floral dress kind of just, spoke to me.

I have actually been thinking about this bright orange bodycon dress for a while. I had it out on a rack the other day paired with a leopard print scarf and a long woollen camel coat for a little trans seasonal inspiration. I think I’ll pop that one in for some Spring Fashion Inspiration once the weather gets just a little warmer.

Speaking of the weather, it was due to the genuinely freezing temperatures that we have been having here that I needed to pop some warming elements to this week’s Spring Fashion Inspiration outfit. This came in the form of a nice thick duvet-style winter coat by one of my favourite coat makers – Orolay.

Orolay are known for their takeover of the coat sales on Amazon a few years ago with the so called Amazon Coat. Since that initial success, they rode the wave well and incorporated lots of different coat options to their offerings. This included a super practical trench coat which I will be dusting off and bringing out, weather permitting.

To finish the look off I popped on some Zara knee high black chunky (not to chunky) which have a wide calf cut which gives them a bit of a gumboot-y type which I feel tones down the in your face colours of the dress combination.

Handbag wise, I used a Valentino cross body bag which I found on Amazon Prime Try Before You Buy wardrobe back in 2021. It was the perfect size to fit in a phone, a card and the keys which – let’s be honest, it all you actually need when going out for a coffee or to the park with the kids.

Fingers crossed you liked this week’s look. I definitely have a look when it comes to how I pair clothing together. I don’t like to shrink into the background and this is not for everyone. I kinda love quirky fashion and have always been a fan of having fun, and being creative with my clothes. I have also really enjoyed being able to mix vintage finds with investment pieces and a little affordable fashion that looks good but doesn’t break the bank – something that is super important to a lot of people right now.
